BS 4142 Noise testing – The British Standard 4142 relates to the “Method for Rating Industrial Noise Affecting Mixed Residential and Industrial Areas”.
BS4142 Noise Testing (Environmental) is often required in order to satisfy the local authority where there could be complaints from local residents regarding the impact of an existing or proposed noise source. A BS 4142 noise test is often required when submitting a planning application when proposed new dwellings could be in the proximity of an industrial noise source.
