We are experienced acoustic engineers and specialise in noise control solutions for mechanical plant and water treatment works. Our clients include Severn Trent Water who have commissioned us to carry out extensive noise testing at one of their water treatment works. Severn Trent required a solution to a noise issue relating to one of their water treatment works and the subsequent affect on nearby residents.
Noiseair carried out a BS4142 assessment and mitigation measures were successfully put into place by installing an acoustic enclosure.
Water Treatment Plant Noise – BS 4142 Case study – for Seven Trent Water Ltd – Mechanical Plant
Noiseair was commissioned by Severn Trent Water Ltd to investigate noise breakout from newly installed mechanical plant being mainly a screw conveyor system used in the process of the sewage treatment works. Noise measurements were taken over several time frames with both the new machinery working and not working to show any noise level differential.
Our findings confirmed that noise levels had risen within the immediate vicinity and taking into account best engineering practices Noiseair made recommendations to install an acoustic enclosure around the new mechanical plant to in order to bring the noise levels below environmental noise standards.
Upon installation of the acoustic enclosures additional noise readings were taken which confirmed that noise from the new plant was within the recommended parameters of the local council guidelines and would not be considered a noise nuisance.
